About Us

Founded on the premise that “a good exercise for the heart is to bend down and help another up,” Broken Hearts of Florida's mission is simple: support, educate and connect families affected by congenital heart defects and other pediatric heart diseases, so we can navigate together the journey of diagnosis, treatment, recovery and thriving, and share our stories and feelings of fear and hope.

Our vision is that families who needs us will find us and will be helped in some way. We connect heart families so we can give and receive the support, understanding and compassion so important to not just endure, but live, laugh and grow.

Joining is Simple and Free
Joining Broken Hearts of Florida gives you a wide network of support from other families who know what it's like to live every day with pediatric heart disease. There are no membership fees and no requirements except to be kind and compassionate to fellow heart families.

To ensure we're able to communicate with you about our events, and programs and services, please fill out our Family Information Sheet and return to BHF via email at info@brokenheartsflorida.org, by fax at 850.668.5865, or by postal mail at 2912 Edenderry Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32309.

Broken Hearts strives to educate and raise awareness of congenital heart disease, and the affects it has on survivors, families and society. Our support includes ...
  • regular get-togethers and dinners for families;
  • connecting and matching families who are in similar circumstances;
  • answering as many questions as we can – from a parent/family perspective – that you may have about your child’s heart condition, quality of life, prognosis, etc.;
  • offering resources and information about congenital heart defects, finding quality care and the importance of follow-up care.
